When can you join the armed forces?

You can join the armed forces after

  1. You can join Armed Forces after class twelfth

The interested candidates after completing their class 10+2 exams can choose the preferred branch of the Indian Armed Forces. Candidates can enrol in National Defence Academy after clearing their 10+2 examination. The examination for entry in NDA is conducted twice every year. This esteemed academy is situated in Pune. UPSC( Union Public Service Commission) conducts the exam to select the appropriate candidates. AFCAT classes in Mumbai are the best ones to guide aspirants for exams.

. The examination for the Airforce is held twice every year. The examination is held by the Central Airmen Selection Board. The female candidates looking forward to serving the nation by joining the defence services can choose Military Nursing Services, the exam for which is conducted by DG-AFMS of the Indian Army. 

Aspirants who wish to join the Indian Navy can choose Navy Artificer Apprentice and SSR exam,

Students who clear their 10+2 examination with either Physics or Mathematics can choose the Navik General Duty examination which is conducted by the Defence Ministry, Government of India.

  1. Candidates can join after graduation

There are immense opportunities for graduate candidates who are looking forward to working for the nation by enrolling in the Armed Forces. Once completed graduation from any documented university, aspirants can sit for the Combined Defence Services Examination which is held twice every year. This CDS exam is the most chosen option by the candidates looking to join defence services. Even the candidates can apply for the Indian Navy after completing their BE/B tech.

They can do this through the INET exam. It is the Indian Navy Entrance Test. This is done to give Permanent Commission and Short Commission to the newly appointed officers. The candidates looking to join Indian Air Force can appear for AFCAT to join ground duty as well as the flying branch of flying services. 

Apart from esteemed forces, you can also opt for numerous paramilitary organizations that are operating in India. They serve as a helping hand to main defence services. How to prepare for Defence exams?

The first step is that you recognize the need for why you want to join the defence forces. Once the need is recognized you will be motivated to work hard to reach your goal. You should work on developing qualities like that of an officer. Also, try to maintain your mental as well as physical strength.
