What is AFCAT?

The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a national-level written examination organized by the Indian Air Force to select officers for its three branches: Ground Duty, Technical and Flying. The Ground Duty Branch undertakes Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education and Meteorology. The Technical Branch assumes responsibilities of the Electronic and Mechanical Details, while the Flying Branch is reserved for Helicopters, Fighters and Transporters.

Eligibility to join c.d.c for AFCAT Regular batch:

  •  FY,  SY, TY and Graduate Candidates
 
  • Science, Commerce & Arts all streams can write AFCAT exam & join the training program.
 
  • Age:
    For Flying Branch:  20 years to 24  years.
    (Till 26 years for CPL Holders)

    For Ground Duty: 20 years to 26  years.

Training program duration:

6 Months for Weekday Batch.

10 Months for Weekend Batch.

 

*** Students are allowed to continue to next batch as well if in case they are unable to clear the exam.

FAQs

Visit the official website of IAF AFCAT. Go to the Candidate’s Login tab and click on the AFCAT cycle. Click on ‘New Registration’, submit the details and receive the registered identification and password on your phone number. Use that to log in, fill up the IAF AFCAT  application and form, make the payment of Rs.250 and submit. Download a copy. If you have any trouble filling out your examination form, you can get assistance from your afcat online coaching classes.

There is no fixed number of attempts for the AFCAT examination, but you can score high marks with the best AFCAT online coaching. The forms are available from November and December (AFCAT Part 1) and May and June (AFCAT Part 2).

At our AFCAT online coaching classes in Mumbai, we prepare students for two papers in the English language: Part 1 and Part 2.

Conducted twice a year in February and August or September, the examination evaluates the student’s ability in English, Verbal Reasoning, Nonverbal Reasoning, General Awareness and Numerical Aptitude.

At our AFCAT online coaching classes, we prepare students according to the eligibility criteria:

● Flying Branch

20 to 24 years (Candidates who hold current and valid commercial pilot licence till 26 years of age. Three-year-course graduation examinations in any discipline from a reputed university. Must have attained a minimum of 60 per cent marks and above or have passed Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level; four-year-course Bachelor’s in Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor’s in Technology (B.Tech); Sections A and B of the Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society a reputed university with a minimum of 60 per cent marks.

● Administration and Logistics

Three-year graduation degree course in any discipline from a reputed university with 60 per cent marks; Sections A and B of the Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society, a reputable university with a minimum of 60 per cent marks.

● Accounts

Three-year graduation degree course from a reputed university with a minimum of 60 per cent or equivalent.

● Education

MBA/MCA or MSc/MA in Physics/Chemistry/International Relations/Mathematics/International Studies/International Relations/Computer Science/Defence Studies/IT/Journalism/Mass Communication/English and Public Relations with a minimum of 50 per cent in aggregate in the two-year postgraduate programme and 60 per cent marks in three-year graduation course (both recognized by the University Grants Commission).

Candidates attempt 100 questions (300 marks) in two hours, and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Here’s the paper pattern for AFCAT exam:

Verbal Calibre in English *(25 questions)*: Grammar Correction, Vocabulary Testing, Sentence Structuring, Synonyms and Antonyms and Comprehension

General Awareness *(25 questions)*: Basic Geography, History, Civics, Sports, Current Affairs, Politics, Defence, Art, Environment, Culture, Politics

Reasoning Military Aptitude Test *(32 questions)*: Spatial Ability and Verbal Skills

Numerical Calibre *(18 questions)*: Decimal Fractions, Profit and Loss, Ratio and Proportion, Simple Interest, Percentage and Simplification.
