WHAT IS CDS EXAM?
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) administers the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) to select Commissioned Officer candidates for the Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy, and Indian Military Academy. The test is administered twice a year. CDS exam pattern consists of 2 parts-Part A of the exam is a written test while part B is a personality test and interview conducted by the SSB which is the Service Selection Board.
The CDS exam 1 will be conducted on April 2023. The application window was closed on January 12 2023. Earlier the final date to apply for the CDS 1 exam was extended by the commission on January 10.2023 due to inconvenience faced by applications.
The CDS 2 exam notification for CDS 2 exam will be released on May 17 2023 and the application process will be carried out between May 17 and June 6 2023. CDS 2 exam will be conducted on September,2023.
